His Excellency Papa Owusu-Ankomah is a senior Ghanaian political figure, statesman and lawyer. He is a founding member of the New Patriotic Party, which he represented in Ghana’s Parliament as a member from 1997 to 2016 for the historic city of Sekondi in the Western Region. During his tenure in parliament, he served in many parliamentary positions, culminating in his selection as Majority Leader in Parliament.

His Excellency Owusu-Ankomah was a prominent member of the Kufuor Administration (2001-2008), during which he served in a record number of senior ministerial positions. He has served as the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Minister of the Interior, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Minister of Education, Science and Sports.

Aside from his political career, His Excellency Owusu-Ankomah is a leading member of the Ghanaian Bar, and the founding partner of Owusu-Ankomah, Arvo-Mensah, Dzigba and Associates.

His Excellency Papa Owusu-Ankomah is married to Mrs. Augustina Owusu-Ankomah and has three children.
