ATTENTION!! ON-GOING SCAM ON SOCIAL MEDIA TARGETING GHANAIAN CITIZENS

The Ghana High Commission will like to announce that the attention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has been drawn to an ongoing scam on social media with some unknown persons using the name of the Honourable Minister to defraud innocent people under the pretext of offering them employment for a fee.

In this instance, unsuspecting persons are made to pay an application fee of Ghc 200.00 by mobile money, to a certain Mr.Owusu, in order to be recruited into the Ghana Armed Forces and other State Institutions. Upon payment of the money, the so called Mr. Owusu arranges to meet the person paying the money, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. Thereafter, all attempts to reach him by phone prove futile.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration once again wishes to state categorically that the Honourable Minister has NOT mandated any person to act on her behalf in the securing of jobs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has NOT embarked on any recruitment drive since the assumption of office of the new Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Honourable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey.

The general public is therefore advised to be alert and report the so called Mr.Owusu to the law enforcement agencies, if he approaches them. Anyone who deals with the said Mr.Owusu does so at his or her own risk.
