President at Oxford for The Oxford Africa Conference

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has challenged Africans to take our own destiny into our hands, develop the continent and bequeath a prosperous, all-inclusive and highly skilled workforce to be able to compete in the global world.
HE the President made the call at the Oxford African Conference held on Friday 11th May 2018 at Oxford University Business School. In his address, the President pointed out that the development of the African continent will bring us the needed respect and also position us a major player in the world activities. This according to the President, will. however, call for dedication, hard work, innovativeness and above all critical thinkers and doers.
The President also called on Africans to transform our economies making industrialization, science, and technology the cornerstone of our new development paradigm shift. According to the HE the President, times have changed and cannot continue to do the same things and expect different results. Therefore he challenged the participants that we should all be part of the change systems that will ensure that Africa becomes an integral part of the global value chain thereby producing high tech products rather than depending on the natural raw materials and agricultural products.
His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo also held side-line meetings with 3 different groups of student who have immense interest in the development of Ghana and Africa at the New College. They were Oxford African Society, African Oxford Initiative, and Ghana Students at Oxford University.
