Ghana’s Foreign Minister celebrate 62nd Independence Eve at Westminster Abbey

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey joined the High Commissioner Papa Owusu-Ankomah, Deputy High Commissioner Madam Rita Tani Iddi, staff and friends of the Ghana High Commission to attend Evensong at the Westminster Abbey, to commemorate the eve of Ghana’s 62nd independence anniversary celebrations in London on 5th March.

During the service, the High Commissioner was invited to read the second lesson taken from the book of Revelation. Special prayers of peace were said for the Government and people of Ghana.

The Evensong is a daily service held at the historical Westminster Abbey. The service follows the traditional pattern in The Book of Common Prayer and consists of choral music (psalms, canticles, and anthems) from the rich Anglican musical tradition, scripture readings, and prayers.
