Ghana Telecom, the national telecommunications operator, is investing in state-of-the-art technology to bring Ghana into line with the latest developments in communications world-wide. The countrywide network of fixed lines, which already serve the vast majority of the population, are soon to be complemented by mobile telephony, and with plans to connect up to the global GSM standard.

And with interconnectivity not only within our borders but with our neighbours all around the world in mind, Ghana Telecom is also looking towards linking up to future submarine and fibre-optic cable networks.
