Association of Ghana Industries

The Association was formed in 1985 as the Federation of Ghana Industries, later becoming the Ghana Manufacturers Association. On the adoption of new constitution in 1994 and in line with the aim of expanding the scope of its membership and activities, the Association adopted a new name, the Association of Ghana Industries.

The AGI is a non-profit making, voluntary business association with more than 1,500 members from both private and public sectors. Membership of the Association is open to all companies registered in Ghana that are engaged in one form or another of industry. Thus, while the majority of Members are in manufacturing, others are in advertising, transport, shipping, construction, banking, insurance, catering, fishing, agriculture, mining and timber.

The main objectives of the Association are:

  • To provide a central organisation for the promotion of the interest of industry in Ghana, study, support or oppose legislative or other measures affecting industry in Ghana.
  • To consider all questions connected with industries operating in Ghana, and to present the views and suggestions of industry to government.
